Māori and Pacific pepe

We are SO close. 384 pepe and tamariki seen. Only a few more to make sure we have 100 tamariki in each of the largest ethnic groups: Māori, Pacific, Asian, and NZ Euro/Other. Calling caregivers of 9-12mo Māori and Pacific pepe: free developmental checks available on 20th and 21st January 2026. Last chance for a free developmental check to help design the future well child development checks. Send me an email. Happy to answer any questions. Many thanks. Dr. Alison from Starship and the rest of the kiwiASQ team.

KiwiASQ: Seeking tamariki and pepe
Tamariki or pepe aged 9months and 12months wanted for a fun hour of play-based games to explore their development.
Be seen by a paediatric speech therapist and child psychologist and maybe a Starship Paediatrician. Get a summary of the morning, a book for child, and some koha in appreciation of your time. Help test the kiwiASQ so we can make it a great way of exploring child development for future well child checks. Study will be finishing in November.

Well child prototypes: ASQ-3
Despite our best efforts, the timing just didn’t work out for the kiwiASQ to be used in the well child prototypes. We were involved in training the WCTO nurses in the ASQ-3 and continue with our validation of the kiwiASQ. Discussions continue re validation, licencing and potential implementation.

KiwiASQ being rolled out in some sites across NZ
